Assigned Articles Not Appearing

I assigned an article to my students this morning, but once in the lab and they logged in there was no article assigned to them in their accounts.  On the management side, it says there was an article assigned as homework, but they had nothing.  I deleted that assignment and redid the article as "in class assignment" but still no article despite students logging out of the program and logging back in. At the top of the student screen it says "Articles (3)" which is what it should be since this is the third article I've assigned, but when they go to "assigned articles" it says there is nothing assigned (not even the past articles), when they go to "articles in progress" it still says "nothing assigned".  I then deleted that assignment and picked an entirely different article, assigned it, had the student completely log out of Zinc, clever, and powerschools and then log back in completely.  STILL NO ARTICLE.  This is completely unacceptable, there should not be sooooo many glitches.

Hi Shannon - thanks for your note.  I am doubtful that what you are describing is related to this particular issue thread, which we resolved a few months ago.  That said, we're happy to help - would you please provide the names of students who you believe completed the article exercise but are not showing as completed on your report?  Note: completion on your report will not be reflected until the student also completes the quiz associated with the article.  If you'd prefer to share student names via e-mail, please reach out at support@zinclearninglabs.com.  Look forward to your reply and hope we can get to the bottom of your issue shortly.

Good morning - we've solved the assignment issue.  You can now proceed to assign articles to your class lists as normal.  The issue was introduced as part of a back-end enhancement which was pushed to our live site yesterday.  We have taken on several internal steps to ensure updates to our app are done with more care as to avoid future disruptions of key functionality. 

We, again, apologize for the inconvenience this has caused and look forward to having you resume your engagement of the Zinc platform.

Indeed - totally understand that the reporting element is a critical.  

After reviewing the issue personally, I've found that there is another option which, though it may prove cumbersome/time consuming, will work as expected: when assigning articles, search and select your students by name and add to the assignment list directly.  

Once you assign, students will see the article in the assigned articles tab and the reporting will work as normal.

We've escalated the issue to our engineers and expect that the issue will be resolved before tomorrow morning.  I hope the option I described above proves helpful in the interim.

When they choose the article I do not get a report on how they did on the quiz, that is not a work around.

Hi there - we apologize for the inconvenience!  We are investigating the issue currently and will share an update and/or an ETA for resolution within an hour.

In the meantime, and as a workaround, you can instruct your students to navigate to an article directly by searching for it in on the main article browse page.  I hope this proves helpful until we are able to reestablish the proper assignment workflow.
